Momentum MAX Storm 14U didn’t just show up this season — they showed out, together.
From the first whistle to the final tournament weekend, this group competed with purpose and cohesion, earning podium finishes in three different states outside of Delaware — 1st place in Maryland, 2nd place in New Jersey, and 3rd place in Pennsylvania. That kind of consistency across borders doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from commitment, chemistry, and a willingness to take on real competition.
The season’s signature moment came in Jessup, Maryland, where Momentum MAX Storm captured the Maryland Juniors 14U Open Championship, finishing 5–0 in matches and playing their most complete volleyball of the year. That performance set the bar. The team followed it with a Silver Medal run at the AAU Irish Madness Invitational in Atlantic City and capped the season with a third-place finish at the AAU Pennsylvania State Championship.
But what stood out just as much as the results was how this team carried itself. On the court, the players competed for one another. Off the court, they genuinely got along, supported each other, and embraced the grind together. That culture mattered — and it showed when matches tightened, momentum shifted, and adversity hit.
Momentum MAX Storm also committed to competing in every tournament on the schedule, including the Northeast Qualifier at National Harbor, where teams from across the country converged. In my eyes, that weekend served as the true measuring stick — a national litmus test. It revealed where we stand, what the next level demands, and how close this group already is.
With a 36–18 overall record, the numbers reflect great progress. In any sport, on any level, that reflects championship caliber winning percentages. 2 wins to every 1 loss. More importantly, it reflects belief. I anticipate most of this core group returning, strengthened by year-round of hard work, summer leagues and the start of high school & other league seasons for many of these athletes, while also the experience of welcoming a few new team members to the program.
This is part of a longer-term vision — a multi-year plan built on development, chemistry, and competitive growth. Looking ahead, I have high hopes that this time next year, Momentum MAX Storm will be competing on the national stage, with a National Championship trip firmly in sight.
This season wasn’t the finish line.
It was a foundation.
